Sew Much Fun
JANUARY 23 – Happy Houses with instructor Judy McCrosky. In this class, Judy will teach us how to break all the measuring rules in sewing to create wonky, fun-looking houses. You can turn your fun houses into large blocks, a table runner, a wall hanging or go big and create a quilt! ($20 plus materials)
FEBRUARY 21 – Stack and Whack – Create exciting effects with fabric, quickly and easily, using the Stack-n-Whack method. You will create stunning blocks spontaneously by simply layering and cutting fabric repeats. Google “stack and whack quilt photos” to view some examples. ($20 plus materials)
MARCH 19 – Return of the Rope Bowls with Trish Thurgood York. This class was so popular and “sew much fun” last year that Trish is teaching this technique again to those who missed out on last year’s class. Rope Bowls are SO on trend! Come on out and be one of the cool kids on the block! ($20 includes rope to make one bowl. Additional rope can be purchased at the class.)
MAY 1 – Free Motion Quilting with Jean Berndt. Ever wanted to try doing your own quilting? Jean is the person to learn from! This will be a day of learning techniques and practicing before you tackle a small project of your own. ($20)
MAY 28 – Learn to Use Your Serger with Kathy from The Sewing Machine Store. Just bought a serger and you don’t know how to use it? Have you had a serger in your basement for the last decade that you don’t know how to use? Need a serger refresher class? This is the class for you! ($30)
JUNE 25 – Personal Sewing Day – Right now, this day is set aside for anyone who wants to work on personal sewing or quilting projects. We’ve been learning that these days are not just sew much fun, but are also good for the soul! ($5)
Date to Be Determined – Nuno Felted Scarves – We are currently looking for an instructor for a nuno felting class. Google it! You’ll be amazed at how beautiful these scarves are! We’ll keep you posted once a date has been set.
**Important to know. All project days are held in Eamer Auditorium, 9:00 am – 4:00 pm. To register for a class (or if you want to attend on one of these dates to get some personal sewing done!), please email Wanda Drew at firstname.lastname@example.org .
